What shall we do to avoid physical desire to have unselfish motives? We can’t avoid our physical desires and have unselfish motives even if we renounce the world and cultivate our hearts as in other religions. We can’t flee from the worldly desires of the flesh even though we don’t look on the sins of the world while listening to the singing of birds, sound of water and breathing in fresh air. We all need Jesus Christ because we can’t avoid committing sins as long as we are in the flesh.

Those enslaved by physical desires try to show their own righteousness. They are just trying to get the benefits of their body. However, this is so foolish. Why did Jesus die on the cross for our sins if we have our own righteousness? We can’t help realizing that we are sinners if we truly acknowledge the death of the Lord.

Those who realize that they are sinners need the blood of Jesus Christ. But, those who think themself as righteous has nothing to do with the blood of Jesus Christ shedding on the cross.

Who can have the right to believe in Jesus?  Jesus came to call sinners. (Mathew 9:13) Sinners have the right to believe in Jesus. Jesus came to heal diseases, (Mark 1:34) the sick have the right to believe in Jesus. Jesus came to drive out demons, (Mathew 12:22) the demon-possessed have the right to believe in Jesus. However, those who think they are righteous can’t meet Jesus.

“It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but sick.” (Mathew 9:12) Likewise, those who soul is sick by sinning and spirit is sick by being cursed and body is suffering from diseases can have right to meet Jesus.

Romans 3:10 says, “There is no one righteous, not even one.” Therefore, we should get rid of the hypocrisy and arrogance that regards ourselves as righteous and realize that we are sinners. We must have blessing to meet Jesus by acknowledging that we need Him.
