1 Corinthians 12:1~3

1 Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant. 2 You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols. 3 Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit. God is love and he demonstrated his love to the whole world through his only Son, Jesus Christ, who is the peak of his love. Due to sin the world contains all kinds of spiritual and physical suffering, curses and death. And after death man faces punishment in hell. God knew that the only way for man to be saved from these things was through his Son's death, so he let the Word become flesh and he sent Jesus into this world to take up man's suffering. “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” (John 14:6). Therefore, Jesus is the only Savior of mankind. From Jesus’ birth to the beginning of his ministry to his death and resurrection, Jesus worked only through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit was responsible for the salvation of the whole world through Jesus’ life. God commanded his Son what he had to do on the earth (John 12:49~50, John 10:17~18) and Jesus did everything according to his Father's will, including dying on the cross. After he was risen from the dead he sent out His disciples so that not even a single person would perish. This was his desperate desire (John 6:38~40, Acts 1:8, John 15:26). The Holy Spirit testifies about Jesus and the event of the salvation for the world. He reveals Jesus' life today just as clearly as he did during the days of Jesus' life on earth. In order to save us the Holy Spirit preaches the amazing grace that Jesus died on the cross by shedding his blood to save us all, lets us hear it and believe it. Without the working of the Spirit, the salvation of the whole world would not be possible. The Holy Spirit also helps, protects, teaches, and nurtures the children of God (John 14:26, Romans 8:27, John 16:13). God is Spirit and he doesn’t come to us without the working of Jesus' redemption. The Holy Spirit works in the spirits of those who have repented of their sin and accepted the grace given by Jesus. Without the Holy Spirit, there is no will of God the Father for the salvation of man, and no reason to possess His saving grace nor to preach the Gospel. Only by the Holy Spirit, we can have this grace and testify about it (Acts 1:4, 8). Who can know and believe the forgiveness of sin unless the Holy Spirit works in us? For “...no one can say, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ except by the Holy Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 12:3). Even today the Holy Spirit is planting churches and lets pastors preach the Gospel even to the point of death, in order for us to be saved by having faith in Jesus. Through Jesus we can be freed from Satan, demons, sin, sickness, poverty, curses, death and hell. Let us give thanks and praise to the Holy Spirit who has accomplished the salvation of the whole world. Let us sincerely obey him and be used preciously by him by working faithfully for the Lord. Hallelujah!
