Ephesians 6 : 1 - 4

  
1. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.  2. "Honor your father and mother"--which is the first commandment with a promise-- 3. "that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."
4. Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

God created whole world. Everything on the earth has been created and protected by God according to his providence. God created man to fulfill his pleasing will. God blessed man by his word. The first man that God created was Adam. God was very pleased with him. The reason God created man was to give them the best blessing and happiness. Man was created to enjoy happiness and give thanks to God. That was the greatest glory to God and the greatest happiness, freedom and joy to man. The first family was formed from Adam. From Adam, men have been spread throughout whole earth. All people on the earth got to have relationship with their ancestor and decedents. For no man was created without God, it is natural for us to glorify God. Likewise, no one was born without his parents, man shall honor his parents. Like we remember God's love and give glory to God, the children shall remember their parent's love and honor them. The relationship between children and parents and the relationship between us and God are unbreakable heavenly relationships.

Unbelief in God is caused by misunderstanding God's true heart. Likewise, dishonor to parents is caused by misunderstanding the parent's true heart. God truly wants man to live well, even giving every creature on earth and his one and only Son, Jesus. God loves us till the end of the whole world, even to eternity. Likewise, all parents love their children, even sacrificing everything they have willingly. No one can understand the parent's heart without raising his own child. Someone gives prizes to parents who raised their children well and to children who honor their parents well. But it is not possible to measure love and good deeds between parents and Children by prizes. Parents always want to love their children more, and children always want to honor their parents more.

However, the true love between parents and children should be based on faith unto God. Children shall honor parents in God. And the parents shall raise their children by God's teachings and instructions. That is true love to children and true honor to parents. The best love that parents give to their children is to let them make eternal relationship with God so that the whole family will be united in God. Then the family will enjoy heavenly blessings to many decedents. (Exodus 20:6). Even though parents and children love each other, even to the point of death, if they did not make their soul be saved by Jesus blood, they will have no way but to fall in hell after death. Therefore, true love and honor come from faith that put hope on the time of soul. Therefore, the scripture tells us that we shall honor parents in God and raise children in God's instruction and teachings. It will be great tragedy if your children or your parents, who you loved for your life, fall into hell. The rich man in the book of Luke chapter 16 thought about his brothers in torture in hell. Therefore, the greatest love and honor to family is to let them be saved by Jesus. The people in Israel looked for the God of Issac, God of Abraham and the God of Jacob. That faith is the greatest inheritance that the people gave to their decedents. For our spiritual love and honor cannot be sensed by body nor be seen by eyes, the world tries to understand it by view point of religion. The scripture promised that the one who honor parents shall enjoy long life on earth and go well. (Ephesians 6:3)

Therefore, the one who wants to live long on earth and go well with him, the one who wants to enjoy happiness in heaven should honor his parents and love his children in God. This was promised by God who never changes his mind and carries out his will. The true love to children should be based on faith for eternal life. The true honor to parents should be based on God’s commandments. That’s the only true love and honor for family. That is God’s love, the best instruction for family, the best inheritance and heavenly richness for many decedents. Beloved brothers and sisters please love your family by the best things in God so that your family can enjoy blessings for many decedents. Let’s love our children and honor our parents in Jesus and by Faith.
