[Shepherding the sheep with one heart] Years living in the Holy Spirit

  • 2017.06.17 19:16

The years that God uses are the years lived by a man who is led by the Holy Spirit.  The years that you live in the world pass and disappear, but the years that you live in the Holy Spirit never disappear, because these are hidden in God.  The only way to stop your limited years, passing and disappearing is to fix your thoughts, minds and deeds in the Holy Spirit.  When you live in the Holy Spirit, you are automatically holy because you cannot be corrupted when you are in the Holy Spirit.  You must be full of joy, making the most of your time and not giving yourself to self-indulgence.  When you are full of the Holy Spirit, you will always have joy, thankfulness, faithfulness and the desire to evangelise.

This is not the same as philanthropy or humanism, or the expression of sympathetic, human emotion.  There is no law against the love of Christ overflowing in the Holy Spirit.  The love of the Lord that no-one can stand against is fully revealed in the Holy Spirit.

The Bible says that, even if you are persecuted and despised as you try to live a godly life in this world, you must rejoice as you look forward to your reward from Heaven.  At present, you feel pain and are distressed because you are persecuted.  But the reward that you will gain from God later is great.  In Romans 8:18, it also tells us not to forget that we are saved by grace.  In the Holy Spirit, we cannot help but be full of joy.  There is no law against such things.

Human joy comes from our emotions:  these emotions will, in time, pass away.  But the joy that comes from the Holy Spirit remains deep in my soul.

The devil works through our physical desires to cut us off from God by corrupting us.  The only way to overcome physical desires is to be full of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:16-17).  We have the victory when we are completely overpowered by the Holy Spirit.  We are blessed and make the most of our time when we overcome physical desires by being full of the Holy Spirit.
