What’s the goal of our lives? To reenact the life of Jesus with the heart of the Lord (John 14:12) To do this, we should be filled with the Holy Spirit. The secret of a wise life is to be filled with the Holy Spirit: the way to make the most of every opportunity is to be filled with the Holy Spirit. The way for us to live a good life in this evil age is not to get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery, but understand what the Lord's will is. His will is for us to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
So many people lived foolishly after Adam, not knowing the will of the Lord. The Lord sent the law and the prophets to humans to make us realize what sin is. And He sent His only Son, Jesus, to bear human sin in our place, solving the human problem of sin, and sent the Holy Spirit as the evidence. If we receive the Holy Spirit, we are with the Lord and should be happy and give thanks to the Lord.
Jesus said, “Receive the Holy Spirit”. What does this mean? He promised to send us the Holy Spirit after He died and was glorified. We should not be foolish, wasting our time. We should thank the Lord wholeheartedly for having filled us with the Holy Spirit.
And we are filled with the Holy Spirit when we confess that we are united with the Lord. How wonderful this is. Baptism is the ceremony of faith which fulfills in our bodies what the Lord said 2000 years ago. It is the testimony given through our bodies. It is confessing we died and are alive with the Lord, and have a holy union with the Lord. (Romans 6:3) I hope you will be saints who confess the Lord as Savior, are filled with the Holy Spirit, and enjoy His glory, receiving baptism as the evidence.
