Where Are You?

  • 2014.04.03 11:35

Adam ate the forbidden fruit and God said to him,
“Where are you?” God is asking to Adam to confess his sin.
If he does not confess his sin, he is a sinner.
Sinners are destined to die and need someone who will save them.

The Lord wanted to help Adam so He called to him.
“Where are you?” (Genesis 3:9, NIV) is the greatest expression
of the love of the Lord for human beings.
When the Lord asked Adam why he ate the forbidden fruit,
he said, "The woman you put here with me--she gave me some fruit
from the tree, and I ate it." (Genesis 3:12, NIV)
He hurriedly ascribed his sin to Eve.

Sin cannot be passed from one to another.
Only the blood of Jesus can get rid of sin.
However humans try to solve their sin to be righteous by themselves.
When the Lord called to Adam, “Where are you?” he tried to pass his sin
to another so he made a lame excuse. There is no place for you to confess
your sin in the world.

We can confess our sin to the Lord only who suffered on the cross at Calvary
and died for us and forgave our sin.

When the Lord asked Adam - “Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you
not to eat from?" it would have been good if he answered, ”I should die because
I disobeyed the Lord’s command. Lord, please save me.“ We should not pass our sin
to another but earnestly acknowledge it and repent.

“Repent!” does not mean to pass your sin to another, but means that you show your
will to live to the Lord, confessing your sin. When we do something wrong, we should
acknowledge it before the Lord. The happiest person in the world is the one who
confesses their sin to the Lord, “Repent!”
