[Shepherding with One heart] A certain key to making the most of every opportunity.

People themselves decide whether their way of life is right or wrong. Those who drink alcohol, or who are lustful and dissipated, or who have lots of money, or who have power and knowledge, live their life according to their own philosophy. Also, those who study hard or help their neighbors have their own life values and believe that, with their own life values, they are living their best possible life.  However, without Jesus, life is useless and unworthy in the sight of God.

When we finish our life’s journey and stand before God, God will judge the results of our life. Therefore, we must live our lives with the spiritual values of God, the judge. If not, we will waste precious time because of our unworthy values.

The Apostle Paul said in Ephesians 5:15-18, “making the most of every opportunity by being filled with the Holy Spirit.” He said you must not make mistakes.  He also warns us in verse 15, “Be very careful, then how you live”. That means you do not allow mistakes in the life that God has given you.

“not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity” means that the unwise idle their time away but the wise make good use of their time. Those who don’t know how precious time is waste their time carelessly.

“The days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.” means that we must know what the Lord wants you to do and what is God’s will for you, and that we must know ourselves well.

Those who make the most of every opportunity are the ones who are full of the Holy Spirit. Such people defeat evil through the Holy Spirit; secure wisdom; and know the will of the Lord and the secret of making the most of every opportunity by the Holy Spirit.  That is making the most of every opportunity.  The key to making the most of every opportunity is to be full of the Holy Spirit.
