[Shepherding the sheep with one heart] Avoid every kind of evil and do what is good.

  • 2018.04.21 23:10

“Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil.” (1Thessalonians5:21-22)

We tell the difference between good and evil in our life time. We also distinguish what to do and what not to do. Who is going to die by taking poison? They don’t take the poison because they surely know they’ll die if they take it. That is the same for the life of faith. Who will follow the enemy and be destroyed if we know about the enemy who make us live worldly and carnally and bring us to hell?

The Bible says “Hold on to the good.” What is good is from the heaven, that is the words of God, the blood of Jesus which redeems us from sins, the work of the Holy Spirit and the blessing that God promised us. The good things given by God are not temporary but everlasting. That’s why God tells us to take the good thing, which is an everlasting blessing.

On the contrary, the Lord says that we must avoid every kind of evil which destroy us and is harmful to us. We must discern in order that the evil spirit who pretends to be an angel like a wolf in a lamb’s skin can’t work in us. We have to be full of the Holy Spirit so that you don’t give the devil a foothold and don’t let worldly desire and sinful nature control you.

We must let holiness, righteousness and goodness of God be seen from us and avoid the every kind of evil. It is the evidence that the devils are using us so much when you do evil. I hope you are blessed by getting rid of all thoughts, philosophy and behavior that are against God and taking only what is good.
