[Shepherding the Sheep with One Heart] Blind Man, Bartimaeus, who had Jesus to Himself

  • 2020.07.07 21:09

A blind man, Bartimaeus, believed that he would see when he met Jesus. When he heard that it was Jesus, he jumped to his feet and shouted, ‘Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

If you face problems which can’t be solved by yourself, you have to find the one who can solve the impossible. The Lord says, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be open to you.” (Matthew 7:7) Therefore, you must ask the Lord for help not being disheartened in agony when you meet insuperable difficulties. You must seek the Lord not asking with worldly desire but spiritually.

“Jesus, Son of David, have Mercy on me!” (Mark 10:47)

The blind man, Bartimaeus, was sure that Jesus would have mercy on him. He believed in Him as the Messiah, Son of David and the Almighty who can help him clearly see the world by solving the basic problem of the blind man who can’t see although he has both eyes. The disciples rebuked him and told him to be quiet but he couldn’t hear it.

We also have to long to meet Jesus like Bartimaeus when we go to church. Our faith must overflow so that Jesus, the Almighty, can solve the impossible. We must have a strong desire to have Jesus to ourselves. The Lord wants such people to have Him. Such as a desperate spirit, mind and situations, they must reproduce in our life until the day the Lord comes.

Many stopped Bartimaeus but his desperate cry, who really wanted to see with his eyes, stopped the Son of God on His way. When you are thirsty and hungry for righteousness, the way to the Lord opens wide. This is the life of faith that you are given answers. If you don’t know about this, you just walk around the church yard but you can’t live a life of faith as a true meaning even though you go to church diligently.
