It can be seen that Paul defined ‘saints’ as ‘those who are called’ and ‘all who call
the name of Jesus Christ’ in the letter to the Corinthians.
“To the church of God in Corinth to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be
holy, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus
Christ-their Lord and ours.” (1 Corinthians 1:2)
The world ‘saints’ means believers who live a holy life. To live a faithful Christian life
means that we should go up to the level of holiness that should be good enough to
be called ‘saints’. To do so, we must win.
In Matthew 24:13, Jesus said “He who endures to the end will get salvation.”
This verse implies we must win. To the seven churches in Asia Minor found the
book of Revelation, Jesus urged that they should hear what the Spirit says unto
the churches.
In the Bible, those who ascended to heaven by enduring to the end are the ‘one
who is wearing bright and clean fine linen standing for the righteous acts of the
saints’ (Rev. 19:8) and the ‘one who has been beheaded because of their
testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God’ (Rev. 20:4).
We should try to do better in our Christian life because, firstly, it is totally thanks
to the grace of the Lord who shed blood for us. Secondly, we know that there is
a big difference between people lived faithfully and those who did not when their
souls go to heaven. Thirdly, we should take part in the first resurrection when
the Lord descended from heaven.
Recently, many people say Jesus will come to the world soon. We all have to be
ready for the wedding banquet of the lamb and be at the peak of the daily faith life.
