2 Peter 3:8-13
 

God is love. He saved us from sin, curses and death. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to fulfill His will of salvation and to grant us grace and eternal life. Jesus took our sin and bore our suffering instead of us (Isaiah 53:5-6). We were created as the happiest creatures. But we have to face misery in life because the first man was deceived by devil and committed sin by eating the forbidden fruit. We got the curse of falling into Hell as the wage of sin. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to the world in order to remove all our miseries. Whoever believes in Him can enjoy freedom from sin (Mark 10:45; John 1:29). Only those who lay down their burdens before God can be freed from the slavery of curses, sin, death and Hell (Hebrews 2:14-15).

Noah obeyed God’s voice and built the ark thousands years ago. Like Noah built the ark that saved him, Jesus in whom you believe saves you. In the days of Noah, people’s wickedness had become great in the eyes of God. God grieved that he had made people and decided to wipe out humans. God made Noah build an ark so that were saved by it. By ignoring the might and authority of God, no one escaped to the ark, only Noah’s family survived. Only 8 people of Noah’s family survived. Likewise, we have to run to Jesus Christ who is the greatest ark whenever we hear His warning messages. Jesus Christ’s work on the cross is for everyone who wants to remove the fateful misery. Nowadays people’s sin became great and every inclination of our thoughts are evil just like in the days of Noah (Matthew 24:36-39). The world has an end which will come when the people’s sin becomes great as the word of God prophesied. Suffering from sin is human nature. No one has made paradise in the world; those who seek it go more deeply into the devil’s trap. The world has end. If you hold onto the hope in the world, no one will save you.

Then how should we be changed (Peter2 3:8-13)? Rescue your soul from the world like Lot saved himself from Sodom. That is faith. Lot was saved while his sons-in-law, who loved Sodom, died in there. His wife loved Sodom and looked back becoming a pillar of salt. Don’t put your heart on the world filled with sin. Don’t desire the world, but don’t give up the world. Just don’t dedicate your life to worldly value but wait on Jesus Christ who is the ark of salvation. The saint who has spiritual hope won’t hold onto hope for worldly civilization. You are not a body with a soul. You are soul with a body. Please distinct yourself from secular value and prepare your time of soul. The bodily desire is vanity. Most of people lived for bodily vanity and died with empty hands. Don’t be deceived by the world. Be like Jesus Christ (Matthew 4:8-11). For the time of Soul!
