1 Corinthians 1:26-31

God sets His will and works accordingly. God sent Jesus Christ for His ministry to complete the salvation for all mankind. “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” Isaiah 53:5-6. Also see John 19:30. Jesus Christ chose lower class and uneducated men to be His disciples while He was on the earth. They were with Him for three years and He let them perform miracles. So every miracle they did was due to the power given by Jesus. Jesus died and was resurrected, and when He ascended into heaven, He asked the disciples to be His witnesses by the Holy Spirit. They could work only by the Holy Spirit, for the Holy Spirit is full of wisdom, knowledge, power, faith and the ability to distinguish. The entire Jerusalem knew the disciples were ignorant men, but the Holy Spirit worked for them to spread the Good News and to performed signs, wonders and miracles. The intelligent in Jerusalem were astonished at the disciples (see Acts 2:4-8.) Therefore, church ministries should be done by those who work by the Holy Spirit, rather than those who are only intelligent. The reason God sent the Holy Spirit is to show the power of the gospel as Jesus did. God chose the ignorant to shame the wise (1 Cor 1:18-21, 1 Cor 1:26-29), and He has become their comfort and faith. He did this to show that He works the same for the Gospel yesterday, today and tomorrow. See Hebrews 13:8. “And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.” Mark 16:17-20. Also see Matthew 28:18-20. Peter was one of the most ignorant people, but He could drive out demons, heal the sick, raise the dead, and preach the gospel to those who had killed Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit. “As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by. Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by evil spirits, and all of them were healed.” Acts 5:15-16. The holy plan and ministry of the Holy Spirit can't be restricted by anything. Therefore we should just obey the touching of the Holy Spirit by faith and faithfulness. Faith means that we acknowledge and obey the working of the Spirit, but disobedience means that we don't. Let us be the workers of the Holy Spirit for Jesus Christ by faith. Wherever we go, let us solve impossibilities and let all people see Jesus, so that they may believe in Him and be delivered from sin. Let us be the workers who can do great things like Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit! Let us be the workers of Jesus filled with the power, wonders and signs of the Holy Spirit!
