The Prayer That Overcomes Death

  • 2011.05.23 16:40

God is righteous and just eternally. Man is under curses, disease, and the suffering of hell and death, due to sin caused by the devil. But God didn’t overlook man’s suffering. He sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to the world to destroy the devil’s work. Jesus was crucified on the cross and shed His blood to pay back the wages of sin, which is death, curses and suffering. Therefore, whenever we bring a problem to God in prayer, He always answers it. See Rom 8:1-2 and John 8:32. God has given us the blood of Jesus to forgive every sin, but there is one sin which cannot be forgiven. “It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.” Heb 6:4-6. See also Heb 10:26-29 and Mark 12:31-32. “And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” Rev 20:10. The result of unforgivable sin that the power of Jesus’ blood cannot reach is terrible. How pitiful are antichrists, false prophets and those who belong to cults. They have been deceived by Satan. On the other hand, those who have forgivable sin can be saved by Jesus Christ. He anoints them and makes them stand firm in Christ and also lets them be a witness of His grace. See 2 Cor 1:21-22. The children of God share in both the suffering and glory of Jesus Christ (Rom 8:16-18). They have the right to ask and receive whatever they need from God. Those who pray are protected from the devil, and they will not be deceived (1 Pet 4:7). The reason we believe in Jesus is to have eternal life. Therefore, Jesus taught the disciples to pray that they would not be led into temptation, but that they would be delivered from the evil one. He also said watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. Dear brothers and sisters, the only way to receive the help of God and not be led into temptation and the working of evil spirits, is prayer. In the last days we must obey the Word of God, pray, be filled with the Holy Spirit and be unified in order to have the victory over the devil. See Ephesians 6:10-13. Dear brothers and sisters, let’s not continue in the sins that lead to death. Let's overcome them!!
