Matthew 1:18-25

18 This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. 19 Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. 20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins." 22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"--which means, "God with us." 24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25 But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus. God sent His One and Only Son, Jesus in flesh to this world to save His own people. In this world the rule is that a sinner should be punished because “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 7:23). Without Jesus, no-one can get out of eternal hell. But man doesn't know anything about his real spiritual situation, that he is a sinner before God and has to be punished as the wages for his sin is death. Not only he can not solve his sin problems or be able to solve them in his life but will finally die and go to eternal destruction. God teaches us the destructions from sin through the Bible in detail and gives us an inheritance which will possess and enjoy in eternal heaven, that is Jesus (John 3:16, 2 Peter 3:8-13). The sacred birth of Jesus is the happiest news for all the world. God told us that His Son Jesus would save His people from their sin and be called Immanuel which means, "God with us." The reason why Jesus comes into this world and is with sinners is to “give His life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45). He purges everyone from all their sin if they bring their sin before Him to live. Jesus wants to solve man's eternal suffering because of sin and be with us. The reason why Jesus is with us is to save man from being under the burden of pain in body and spirit, so He raised the dead, cured a leper, let the blind see, let the deaf hear and let the mute speak. We ought to thank Him truly, receive and glorify His name. But the world didn't know our Savior Jesus, so persecuted and nailed Him on the cross. Now, it is the grace of Jesus with us and the work that He took charge of, our eternal sin, curses and diseases (1 Peter 2:22~24). Believers know and experience this truth by the Holy Spirit. Those who don't know the working of the sacred birth of Jesus don't understand the fact that He suffered cruelly to solve our sin, curses and diseases. Rather, they speak evil of Him, waste themselves away and enjoy their sinful nature at Christmas. They leave Him, ignore Him and turn their faces away from Him. They don't want to accept Him who is the Word which became flesh as their Savior. Dear brothers and sisters, let's know the true meaning of the scared birth of Jesus who gave His life as a ransom for us and is with us. Let's believe His work will be done in us and thank and praise Him. Give the glory to Him.
