Repent for the Forgiveness of Sins

Acts 2:36~41 36

"Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ." 37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?" 38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off--for all whom the Lord our God will call." 40 With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation." 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. God is spirit, so we cannot see or hear Him. But He showed himself clearly through creation and by making man in His own image. God gave man all that He had made, and let him use it and rule over it freely. Therefore, man, who lives by God's grace, should thank, worship and serve Him. But man didn't. He ate the forbidden fruit that God had commanded him not to eat. He listened to the devil, who is the enemy of God, and sinned against God. The result was death. But God still loved man and had pity on him. He let His one and only Son, Jesus, die on the cross to forgive and save man (John 3:16, Isaiah 53:5~6). If man was not forgiven, he had to die and suffer in hell. The sacrifice of Jesus was for man's sin, so man should repent. Repentance is confessing our sin and giving our suffering to God. It is acknowledging the working of Jesus' blood on the cross to take and forgive our sin. The wages of sin is death, regardless of whether we have many or few sins. The one who doesn't repent should be cleansed of his sin. Repentance by the working of Jesus' blood makes us free. God freely gave man eternal life and heaven as a gift. Christianity is the only way to live happily forever by receiving forgiveness, eternal life and heaven. Repentance is not only blaming ourselves or regretting what we have done; but it is giving our sin to Jesus. The working of his blood sets us free (Mark 10:45, Matthew 11:28). All kinds of diseases, curses and problems come from sin. Therefore, repent to remove all your sins. Where there is the working of Jesus' blood, there is repentance and forgiveness. Only Jesus took our sin - He is our Savior. God asks man to repent, and man asks God for Jesus. God's greatest act of caring for man was to solve his sin problems by Jesus and to let him live forever (John 6:38~40). Therefore, He asks man to repent with a broken spirit (Psalm 51:16~17). Any service to God by sinners without Jesus' blood, is dead (Isaiah 59:1~3, Matthew 5:21~22, Isaiah 66:2~4). We should have a positive attitude and hold Jesus' blood. When you are made holy by repentance, the Holy Spirit comes on you - this is Jesus' promise (Acts 2:36~39). Dear brothers and sisters, our sin curses, kills and destroys us. Only those who repent can live. Prevent sin from spreading in you by repentance.
