Romans 6:4~5

4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. 5 If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection. God is the absolute ruler who controls everything in life and death, fortune and misfortune. Everything is done according to God’s command. The worst thing for man is sin and death. Nobody can avoid death which is due to the wages of sin. God told man, “You must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die." Man didn’t believe what God had said, but instead he listened to the devil. The devil deceived him by saying that when he eats of it, he would be like God. But the result of man’s disobedience, which was sin, was hell where there is eternal curses and death. God knew this in advance so He sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, into this world to bear our sin. Jesus died on the cross shedding His blood in order to pay back the wages of our sin in order to save the world. Therefore man should repent and confess that he is a sinner before Jesus who repaid the wages of his death. Whoever believes that Jesus is his Savior and that Jesus died on the cross for him, doesn't need to go to hell for his sin will be cancelled out. Jesus Himself said that He came to die for us (Mark 10:45). Jesus is righteous. He is the Son of God and He doesn't have any sin. He is the Creator, and almighty, so there was no reason for Him to die; but He died on the cross, shedding His blood on the tree of curses as the worst sinner. The moment Jesus died, our death due to the wages of sin was resolved. How could this happen? There is no one who died and was risen from the dead in this world (Hebrews 9:27). The resurrection of Jesus verified that He had no sin. The reason why Jesus, who had no sin died, was to take man’s sin. He rose again after three days to prove that He had no sin. Jesus affirmed that He died for our sin, and that He rose again because of His righteousness. God's providence for the salvation of the whole world - the death of Jesus and His resurrection - was predestined long ago (John 10:17~18). So the mission of Jesus was to raise us from the dead and to give us new life by bearing our sin (1 John 5:11~12). By Jesus' death, our death was resolved. The Holy Spirit has testified that our death ended with His resurrection (1 Corinthians 1:21~22). By the death of Jesus, all the sins which lead the whole world to death, were resolved. And by the resurrection of Jesus, we who once were sinners, may live a new life (Romans 6:2~5, Romans 6:8~11). Therefore Jesus' death is my death, and His resurrection is my resurrection. If Jesus didn’t die and rise again, then we would still have to pay the wages of our own sin and be dragged to hell in the end (1 Corinthians 15:14~19). Jesus took responsibility for our sin, so He became our Savior and our life. Let us give thanks for we all died with Jesus and live again with Him.
