Matthew 3:1-12

God is good, righteous and holy. He is the only absolute being who has no sin and He has revealed Himself through the things that He had created by His Word. “For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.”  (Rom 1:20-23).

Everything in the heavens and on earth lives, for it is God’s will. Living by knowing and acknowledging God’s provision is righteousness. Living and not knowing and acknowledging God’s provision is sin.

Today’s Scripture calls people, who are destined to destruction, to repent. Repentance means knowing the will of God. The one and only grace which has solved the problem of our suffering, due to the wages of sin, is repentance.

John the Baptist cried out in the desert, “Repent, for the kingdom of Heaven is near.” You should realize your sins and come before Jesus so that you can be happy both physically and spiritually. Sadly, the Pharisees didn’t know the true meaning of repentance, so they perished.

Those who cannot understand and believe the Word of God, are the most foolish in the world. Those who repent, knowing that they are sinners, have experienced the greatest thing ever - curses and judgment from sin are instantly removed.

God’s Holy Spirit is working by this testimony. Jesus shed His blood on the cross, and whoever is atoned for by repenting and accepting this grace, is now a man of Jesus Christ. Mankind should in fact, bear the wages of their own sin, and they are doomed to perish.

“Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned.” (Rom 5:12) But Jesus came to this world to save us from the curses, anger and judgment that resulted from the wages of sin.

Whoever repents will possess Jesus’ purpose for coming to this world and they will possess His life. Surprisingly, man doesn’t fully understand his destruction due to his sins, so God sent the law to allow him to understand. Sin was revealed through the law.

“Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.” (Rom 3:20) Even though there is sin in man, he doesn’t know it. We should try to find our sin in order to solve it.

Repentance means that you acknowledge that you are a sinner, and this acknowledgement will allow you live for ever and ever. No matter how many times you come to church, listen to the sermon and read the Bible, if there is no true repentance in you, it means that you are indifferent to Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ shed His blood on the cross and died to solve all kinds of sufferings resulting from our sins. Repentance means that we are strongly asking for the working of the blood of Jesus. Only true repentance can block the curses from sin. This allows us to open the gate of blessing, the gate of grace, the gate of healing, the gate of happiness and the gate of eternal life.

Dear brothers and sisters! What suffering do you have? Please find your sins before the righteous God, be rid of your curses and the despair of suffering, by repentance. The Lord never gives up. The Lord will desperately wait for you to repent until you die. Repent, then He will give you everything with Heaven.
