Sow Eternal Life by the Holy Spirit and Reap It from the Spirit

Galatians 6:6-10

God is righteous, so whatever He does is always right and His judgements are just. The blessing that God has given to us is to let our bodies and spirits live by His grace. But man became ungrateful and ignored God's grace by listening to the devil rather than listening to God.

The sin of the disobedience of man resulted in eternal death, physical and spiritual suffering. "Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned.” (Romans 5:12)

Adam committed sin, and we are his offspring. Therefore we are born with sin, and it is the cause of all our suffering. The world is under the rule of evil spirits, which is why there is no hope for us. Even though people are continually striving to live their lives fully, there is no-one who has ever been able to live as much as they had wanted to.

"All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.” (Ephesians 2:3) All of mankind is by nature objects of wrath. Unfortunately we haven't realized this miserable fact before God; and we are rushing to eternal destruction. But God knew this and He had mercy on us. He sent us His Word to let us realize the work of the devil, and that we are sinners and that we are doomed to die.

There was no way for us to know the work of the devil and to overcome it; but God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to bear all our sins by shedding His blood on the cross. In Him was no sin, so He was resurrected from the dead and He destroyed the work of the devil, who holds the power of death, so that He could save us from our sins.

Jesus Christ is the only One who can solve our physical and spiritual problems. “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:5-6)

Whoever believes in Jesus will be saved from any wrath. On the contrary, whoever doesn’t believe in Him, will be under wrath and judgement. Man has the right to believe in Jesus or not, but no one can avoid the wages of sin - death.

God knows everything about how we live. "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” (Galatians 6:7) The life of man is like a farmer who reaps exactly the amount that he had sown and taken care of. If you sow something for your flesh, then you will reap perishable things from your flesh. If you sow something by the Holy Spirt for the time of your spirit, then you will reap eternal life from the Spirit.

"The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” (Galathians 6:8) This is the absolute love of God for us, He sent the Holy Spirit so that we could be led by the Spirit to overcome and control the desires of our sinful natures.

"Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation--but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it. For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.” (Romans 8:12-14)

We can't see our labor for our souls with our eyes. If we were not aware that our hard work by the Spirit is for the benefit of our souls and the glory of God, we would be frustrated. Therefore the Scripture says for us to not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9)

The promise of God is our faith and hope. Whatever we do, let us not do it for our own self-righteousness, boasting or the desires of sinful nature; but by the desire of the Holy Spirit. Let us sow and bear fruit by the Holy Spirit so that we can have the fullness of glory for the time of our souls. Let us work hard in the time given to us!
