1 John 3:8-12

God loves the world, but not because we are righteous or attractive. The working of the devil, Satan and demons cause us to be under all kinds of curses and we will all die miserably. God knew that we wouldn’t be able to escape the punishment of eternal fire in hell. So, He loved our souls and gave His only Son to save us from the Fall. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

Even though the world is on the cutting edge of science and technology, it doesn’t know about the physical and spiritual curses due to sin, caused by the devil and demons, for they are unseen. But the all-knowing God knew that we would perish without Jesus. So he solved our problem with His almighty power.

The working of the devil is unseen, and it may appear in sins, curses and suffering. Those who don’t understand the spiritual realm, have no way to see that these things are the working of the devil. Where do these problems come from? The first man, Adam was deceived by the devil and listened to him instead of to the Word of God, and since then all kinds of sufferings and sins came into this world. No-one can deny this fact!

The devil, Satan, evil spirits and demons in the unseen world control the seen world by causing every kind of affliction in people. Jesus is the only one who knew all this, and He came to the world and drove out demons and healed people’s diseases.

“Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see.” (Matthew 12:22) Sin causes us to become sick and curses us with sufferings. We didn’t even know this, but Jesus knew this and said "See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you." (John 5:14) When the friends of the paralytic brought him to Jesus, Jesus said, “Your sins are forgiven.” In the same way, evil spirits and sin afflict our physical bodies, and after we die, they lead our souls to hell.

People are only able to understand problems caused by things they can see, but they are unable to understand the underlying cause of sin and evil spirits. Job went through a lot of suffering and difficulties. He misunderstood that it had been done by the Sabeans and Chaldeans; not by evil spirits, for they are unseen.

“At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised." In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.” (Job 1:20-22)

This enemy, evil spirits which we cannot see with our eyes, can only be defeated by Jesus, the absolute being. As long as Satan exists in this world, we desperately need Jesus. Only Jesus can stop the cruelty of evil spirits. We have Jesus Christ who can help and deliver us from the devil and sin. He preserves us in the name of Jesus, drives out the devil, Satan and demons and heals the sick and lets us win the victory over our problems by prayer.

Let us give thanks to the Lord, for He made us His children and preserves us by His absolute power. Let us give thanks to Jesus who will solve every cause of unhappiness.
