By God’s grace, we have made it through another year. Though we wavered like reeds before the God who has shown us His grace, by His boundless mercy, we are still able to stand before the Lord today.

As we look back on the year, perhaps the greatest blessing God desires to give us is the promise of forgiveness of sins through the precious blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross, by which our sins are dealt with once and for all.

I pray that we may seek to make things right in our relationships with God, with others, and with the world around us—not because we are afraid of going to hell, nor because we want to avoid the suffering that the consequences of sin bring into our lives on this earth, but because we long to be with the Lord who died for us and to draw closer to Him. May our repentance spring from this sincere desire to walk more closely with our Lord.
