If you don’t follow the word of God but take wicked ways, you are betraying God. What makes you go in another way, not the way of the word of God? It happens when you trust your own idea. We must not betray God by taking a wicked path. We must follow the word of God no matter what God tells us to do.
Putting God to the test is also betrayal. When some of the Israelites betrayed God putting God on the test, they were destroyed. When you doubt something, you put it to a test. Not trusting God and putting him to test is an act of betrayal.
After beginning with Spirit, trying to attain your goal by human effort is also betrayal (Galatians 3:3). On all accounts, you must not let the desire of sinful nature overcome the Holy Spirit. You should let the Holy Spirit controls your bodily desire. You should realize that you became a betrayer going back to the flesh being away from the Holy Spirit when the Spirit’s power in you is not revealed anymore and it’s hard for you to trust in the word of God like before.
It is obvious that going back to the world deserting faith is betraying God. A betrayer is one who deserted the Lord by loving the world (2 Timothy 4:10). The Devil deceives the person of God to betray God. Therefore, you should stay in the grace and love of Jesus Christ and not be deceived by the world. If you get to love any worldly things, you shall go back to faith quickly, realizing “Oh, I have a possibility of betraying the Lord.”
Like the church in Ephesus, losing your first love is also the betrayer. It is very important to keep yourselves reminded of the first love for your faith life. If you forget the first love, you cannot stay unshakable in your faith life. Therefore, you need to repent and get back to God in every time you swayed back and forth.
