[Shepherding the sheep with one heart] The life which needs the help of God

  • 2018.04.30 11:34

We must pray and not waste time. Jesus was raised from the dead and sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven. He always intercedes for us.

“Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died--more than that, who was raised to life--is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” (Romans 8:34)

But why is it that we, the people who are filled with the impossible and need to pray day and night, will not earnestly pray like Jesus? Not praying means that we don’t need God's help. Trying to live without the help of the Lord is the greatest form of arrogance. Humankind are weak beings who cannot live without God’s help.

The second arrogance after 'not praying' is doing something without asking God. Jesus always prayed and acted after asking God. Jesus always moved with God's approval. The Bible says that Jesus speaks to the Father in our defense.

Jesus Christ prayed. He is still praying for us at the right hand of God. He earnestly prays that not one of us should perish. John 17 consists of Jesus' prayer.

In order to help humans suffering from sin and curse, He earnestly prayed to save mankind, who had fallen by sin. He is still praying for us in heaven. We need the help of the Lord, but if we do not pray, how sad will He be? Jesus prayed even when He was dying on the cross. "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit."

Wouldn’t it be good if we could confess this at the end of our lives?  But we cannot confess this if we are not accustomed to praying.
