[Shepherding the sheep with One heart ] Keep praying to the Lord who will answer

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. During His public life, He performed miracles and wonders by His mighty power and authority that He can heal the leper, raise the dead, calm the wind and waves, make wine out of plain water and make things that do not exist and that do, not exist. Is there anything the Son of God needs or wants? However, Jesus kept praying and asked God for help.

In Matthew 9, the disciples asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?” (Mark 9:28) Jesus replied, “This kind can come out only by prayer.” (Mark 9:29) That means Jesus prayed so much.

Jesus prayed eagerly at Gethsemane before He took up the Cross, and He prayed on the Cross, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” (Luke23:46)

We can tell how much we should pray when we see the life of Jesus Christ. When we see even Jesus the Son of God prayed like that, we realize how important to human prayer is and how much more we should pray. We have to pray harder because Jesus who is far more almighty than us always prays.

Jesus always lives to intercede for us sitting at the right hand of God, (Hebrews7:25) hoping that even one of us doesn’t perish. Jesus came to the world in flesh and always prayed. Now, He still prays for us. Nevertheless, if we, who can live only with the help of God, don’t pray, how sad would the Lord be? So the Bible says, “Pray continually.” (1Thessalonians 5:17)
