Godliness is an attitude and mindset of living with a full awareness of God in our lives, in everything we do. The book of Philippians urges us to be godly in whatever we do. “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy think about such things.” (Philippians 4:8) The phase “Whatever is noble” means that you should always recognize God and be godly in your attitude toward Him in wherever you are and whatever you do. You should eat food with thanks and godliness. You should do works with godliness. You should praise God, listen to His Word and pray with godliness. Also, you should pray, evangelize and do all God’s works with a godly attitude.
In anywhere and anytime, we should be aware of God and overflow with godliness toward Him. When we become like this, God chooses to use us. “Know that the Lord has set apart his faithful servant for himself; the Lord hears when I call to him.” (Psalms4:3) The phrase “The Lord has set apart his faithful servant” says that God selects those who respects God, pleases Him, and are trustworthy in whatever entrusted to them. God chooses such godly ones, and He instantly answers when they cry out for help. Therefore, the godly ones receive the answer of prayer. The Lord Jesus Christ respected God the Father being obedient to Him to the point of death on the Cross like sheep to fulfill the will of Him for the salvation of mankind. Likewise, we also should do the Lord’s work and preach gospel with the heart that “I desire that the will of Father to save even one soul be fulfilled even if I may die. Such person is truly godly one, and God uses people like them.
